Oval outwales

With probably 150 restorations under my belt, I've never had to mill oval outwales, or bend them.
I'm looking for info on how it is done and what kind of tools and tooling is needed to shape them.
Any insight is appreciated!

with less than or around 30 under my belt I had to do it...so, first off, not fair.
What I did was to bevel the outwale top and bottom to trapezoid and then quarter round in the shaper to the outside corners. Bend to taste. As I recall, the top of the outwale may have been near 90 degrees to get it level across the top. But, this was an Indian Girl and so the outwale wasn't rabbeted. It was about 1 5/16" thick I think. Memory is fuzzy. I guess a rabbet could be made with a routa.

i use a bullnose router bit for stair edges, not sure if the profile will work for what you need but its likely really close. Just a thought...
