Outboard Transom Plate Needed

I’m looking for a transom plate for a small outboard motor to go on a freshly restored Arrowhead Meraco Racer. The owner will be putting a vintage outboard on the boat and we’d like to not mark up the transom by clamping a motor on. Hoping someone salvaged one somewhere along the line.
Thanks
Dave

I generally use a couple sheets of Luan hung inside and outside to protect the transom from the screw clamps. You can make this as fancy as you want but I use a couple pieces of duct tape to connect these so that they can hang over the top of the transom. This does the trick and leaves no marks.

My "temporary" Luan has been used for about 8 years. It is now a fixture on my boat and has survived the transition from my period correct 1954 Sea King to my "goes like stink without falling apart" 2019 Mercury... ;)

On my 15' mahogany Barbour runabout I mount the outboard motor over a doubled layer of roofing rubber. It's quite thin, perhaps a 1/6" or less, so two layers work well. I make the pad long enough (when doubled) to drape over the top of the transom and provide a surface for the thumbscrews, the top surface of the transom where the mounting yoke would rub, and the legs of the yoke as they bear against the surface of the transom.
