Hi everyone,
I just brought home a vintage wood-canvas Old Town canoe and uncovered the serial number stamped on the floor stem. The number is 107438.
I am planning to take this on as a restoration project and would love to get a scan of the original factory build record if someone is able to pull it for me!
Here is a quick breakdown of the boat's details to help verify the model:
I've attached a couple of photos of the serial number stamp and the canoe itself to help out. Thank you so much for your time and help!

Here is a quick breakdown of the boat's details to help verify the model:
- Length: Roughly 18 feet long.
- Gunwales (Top Rails): It has open/slotted gunwales (there are visible gaps/slots between the ribs along the top inside edge).
- Seats & Trim: Wood frames with hand-woven cane seating.
- Current Paint/Hull: It is currently a weathered forest green, but there is a clear layer of bright yellow paint peeking through underneath the green at the bow deck.
- Condition: The wood interior and ribs appear mostly solid and complete, but the exterior canvas is dry-rotted and peeling.
