Request for a build record - Thompson Bros.

I think I have discovered a serial number on my Thompson Brothers Canoe.
On the bow stem I have uncovered (from a couple coats of paint) the number "CX482" stamped directly into the wood (no metal plate).

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

No records for Thompson canoes are known to survive. The vast majority of Thompson canoes were unmarked; no serial number is found in them. I have seen one other with a serial number with the prefix "CX". No idea what the significance is... As I recall, it was a Ranger model.

Dan is correct. There are NO records from Thompson that exist other than the production files for boats built circa 1991-1993 that I posess. Fiberglass power boats, of course.
