The Old Town canoe with serial number 144794 is an 18 foot long, CS (common sense or standard) grade Guide model with open spruce gunwales, ash seats, decks and thwarts, and equipped with a keel. It was built between March and May1946. The original exterior paint color was dark green . It was shipped to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on June 3, 1946.
