Recently acquired this Canadienne. Old Town was unable to provide any details. I don't know if I'll have better luck here. Still has the original "Made especially for" brass tag on the carry yoke, so I am assuming it was a special order for some reason?

Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 236095 and hull identification number XTC36095M81D is a 17 foot long fiberglass Canadienne model with vinyl rails that weighed 78 pounds. It was built in November, 1980. The original exterior color was green. It shipped on February 17th, 1981 to Newbury, Massachusetts. The back side of the card indicates that it was a factory second that was soft with a cloth pattern on the hull. The return card shows that it moved to Beverly, Massachusetts on March 21st, 1981. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.

These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/pricing-plans/join to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
