Odie’s Bark Canoe

I stand with the others who are simply awestruck by your work. Your canoes qualify as High Art, and they have a functional side as well. Having paddled one, I can say it was a spiritual experience. Keep at it, Ferd... you're amazing!

Post now over 2k views, so there it is. On re-reading it and reflecting, i have to ask Mike if he was referring to Ferdy or me. Andre captured it perfectly. In the presence of a master, we stand in awe. :D

Still not over Daves bowl of poop.

Now being an owner of a birchbark canoe on the otherside of the Atlantic I can appreciate the craftsmanship, skill and knowledge to build these wonderful craft. The fact that a lump like me can pick the canoe up, do some titivation under the guidance of the original builder, paddle it and stay dry is testament to the dedication of these builders. What we need is others to continue and maintain this skill.

Well done and thank you for your craft.

Ferdy,
If it wasn't so weird I would marry your latest creation but the rest of the 'harem' out in my barn would be really jealous, and my wife....well Jean already says I need therapy. So I guess I will just admire your work from afar and hoist a glass to your beautiful canoe.
Jim
