NW Chapter Fall Meet

The NW Chapter WCHA Fall Meet is Sept. 12 – 14 at Manning Park, B.C.

A few reminders and a preview of what might happen there:

Stateside members, don’t forget your passports. Canadians may bring firewood.

$5 per person per night camping fee. Bring a main dish, salad, or dessert, and auction items for Sat. evening. There is a shelter with wood stove and an outdoor fire pit for warming or cooking food.

Afternoons may be balmy, nights may drop below freezing. There is potable water, but no RV hook-ups or electricity.


Proposed schedule:

Friday - Mid-day arrival, camp set-up & sign in; meet & greet
5:30 - 7:00pm – dinner time (on your own)
7:00 - ? Bring a topic or object of interest for a show and tell
presentation.
Campfire and sing-along, musical instruments welcome.

Saturday - Dawn Patrol
7:00 – 9:00am - Breakfast
9:00 - Canoe presentations
10:00 - Number Game!
11:00 – Prepare for paddling & hiking excursion to
Lightning Lakes Chain Trail or enjoy a paddling tour of the lakes.
11:30 – 4:00 pm – Paddle & hike.
4:30 – Chapter Auction
5:30 - Potluck Dinner with shared main dishes, salads, and desserts
7:00 – Continue Friday night’s presentations and sing-along, or
“Snipe hunt”

Sunday - Dawn Patrol
7:00 – 9:00 am – Breakfast
9:00 – 10:00 - Fall Chapter meeting, everyone welcome
10:00 ------Clean up & check out.


Driving directions to Manning Park:

Easy to miss: From Hwy 3, east of Hope, turn right after the Manning Park Lodge 41 km from the west entrance, (marked by carved Marmot.)
Follow signs to Lone Duck Group Camp 2, Lightening Lakes, 4 km off Hwy 3.
