Nor-West Canoes

Nice family story in that company. Good to see them continue the craft and keep it in the family. Not many can do that in any field. Thanks for sharing, Rob.

Better abrasion resistence.
I have filled several canvasses with epoxy, including "unadulterred" (you have to be careful to do a light first coat so it doesn't fully penetrate and fix the canvas to the planking, or use a sealer or "release" on the wood -hair spray was suggested), or with powdered filler (many options, I have used West System 410 fairing filler).

So, sorta like covering in fiberglass, but using cotton canvas instead of 'glass cloth, and not allowing the resin to bond the canvas to the planking? I would imagine that it is significantly lighter than the traditional oil/silica fillers?
