New to me canoe..

Hi guys, I'm new hear and been looking for a canoe of this type to fix up and bring back..
Can someone help with more info. about this canoe? I can't find the serial number, there is a lot of old flaking varnish that has to be removed and someone has glassed over the outside which is pulling off fairly easy.

Thanks! I need to get some varnish remover and hope to see the number under there some where. The Canoe is about 15ft. long.
