Need Vintage Double Blade Paddle ID

I just purchased this old double blade paddle that I plan to fix up. It measures 108" long, and the blades are 5-3/4" wide. The blade has the remnants of the original decal. Might be a long shot, but I am hoping somebody can help me identify the original maker. Thanks.

Looks like a Page Brand double paddle. They were produced by the New York Boat Oar Company that had plants in Ohio, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Wow, that was fast! Thank you. Any idea when Page Brand paddles were made? I was planning to restore it. Would I be better off leaving it as is and preserving it as a wall hanger?

The information at the first link below indicates that they may have been around from 1843 to at least 1938. Most of the ones that show up now seem to be from the 1930s. The answer to your question about what to do with it usually starts with "It's your paddle..." The market for old paddles can be a bit thin so I would encourage you to do what is going to bring you the most pleasure. Their old catalog at the second link below may also interest you. Good luck,

Benson
