Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
Jean & I bought a cool paddle in Groton, CT a couple weeks ago. Double flat blades, 114" (289.5 cm) total length, 6.75" (17.1 cm) wide blades with metal tips. The two piece connecting joint is nickle plated brass. There are no identifying marks as to maker but with the strong center ridge running down the blades it looks to me like a Ted Shea paddle. Appears to be Spruce.
