Can someone post pictures of 24 inch decks on a 17 ft. model A, type 3 B N Morris? I need a good shot of the tips, (ends of the outwales where they come to the outside stem) and the combing where it terminates on the inwales. Thanks, Fred

Thanks Rollin,

This canoe is also an open gunwale canoe. I have several pictures that I have taken over the years (including some of your canoes). The issue I have is that the outwales on this canoe start to taper down both in width and thickness about three feet from the ends while maintaining their "D" shape. When we got the canoe, the last three or four inches were broken off of the ends. I've spliced onto the ends and roughed them in to extend past the outwales. If this is correct, the end view of the rail isn't much larger than the end of a lead pencil. Also, the last approximate eighteen inches of the rail doesn't have the rabbit on the backside. It's flat and was tacked through each rib from the outside. Everything on the canoe looks original except the decks and coming and they are made of cheap Phillippine mahogany and have a slightly different shape than the decks that I've seen. I would like to make the canoe look original if possible. Any comments ? Fred

Here is a photo of the canoe deck when we bought it. What needs to be done to make it look original ie:
(1) Does the deck sit on top of the outside stem
(2) Should the outwales go across the outside stem

Thanks again Fred
