Morris deck combing screws

ticonderoga

"Just one more"
Restoration of my Morris #4207 is going well, but I have a question about the screws that attach the combing ( right term? ) to the deck support. When i got the canoe these had been removed and attached with round headed aluminum screws, which I beleive are wrong and just don't look right. What is the correct size and type of screw to use? Thanks

I've attached some pictures of mine but not sure if they are #6 or #7, but oval head slotted brass screws 7/8 to 1 inch. I'd have to pull one to double check.

Hope that helps,

Paul

I pulled a screw from the combing of my, yet to be restored, 1915 B. N. Morris long deck. The length of the screw is 7/8ths inch.
