Sadly, these are the only photos I have of the canoe at this point. A gentleman in a nearby town is looking to sell it for $100, and I'm hoping to figure out a bit more about it before I decide if I want to attempt a restoration on it (it would be my first wood/canvas restoration, so quite the learning experience, but will definitely be a blast to do). The seller managed to find one spot on the bow stem that has a number stamped. It is pretty faint, but it seems to be 127456 (see attached image). (The 1 may not be a 1? The 7 is my best guess from photos alone, but the -2-456 are pretty clear.) At the Wooden Boat forums, a couple users thought it looked like an Old Town, but the serial doesn't seem to end in the length of the boat, which I understand is how Old Town serials ended.
Any thoughts on identifying this poor gal?
