Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
I'm working on a 15' UFO. Had it to the gathering two years ago and no one ID ed it. Some clues maybe, it came from Maine. It has copper round head tacks in the planking to ribs. It has steel tacks holding the canvas. The decks are cedar and while symetrical one, the rear, is an inch and a half shorter, and all around smaller, than the front. steel screws used, no evidence of brass screws. I admit, it seems wartime. But they had copper for the planking. It is broad of beam and has but one seat no evidence of caning. Sound like anything someone has seen?
