I am new owner!

The Old Town canoe with serial number 184516 is a 16 foot long Wahoo model with a lateen sailing rig, white decks and a white hull. It was built between February and March, 1970 and shipped on April 2nd, 1970 to South Berwick, Maine. The back side of this card indicates that there was a dry spot which was starved of resin on the right bow. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below.

These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.php to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. The build records are the only information that has been preserved so the original invoice is not available. I have a nearly identical Wahoo near Portland, Maine if you want to see how it all goes together. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
