Family friend has two Old Towns that I would like to obtain the build records for. 121026 (18) and a 145405 (16).
Thank you so much!
Daniel

The Old Town canoe with serial number 121026 is an 18 foot long, GS (Guide Special or utility) grade, Guide model with open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, half ribs, and a keel. It was built between March and June, 1937. The original exterior paint color was G. S. (Guide's Special) green. It was shipped on August 25th, 1937 to Aberdeen, Mississippi.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 145405 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, and oustside stems. It was built between May and July, 1946. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on July 25th, 1946 to Detroit, Michigan.

Scans showing these build records can be found below. These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is possible that you could have other numbers or manufacturers if these descriptions don't match the canoes. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
