Help with Boat ID

Paul Miller

Canoe Nut
Hi All,

I know this is not a canoe, but similar building technique.

This boat is from the Adirondacks and about 80 + years old. It appears to be planked with White Cedar. She is 15'7" and I don't have the other measurements yet but could get them.

I do have the other parts, like seats, and floor boards if that helps to ID.

There are no makings that would help ID the builder, but I know you guys up in that area might have some clues.

Thanks,

Paul

Don't know who the builder is but it is fairly typical of the whitehall-style boats that were common on Lake George, for example. Mystic Seaport sells plans for a Lake George boat called "Winona" that may offer clues. Unfortunately, my set is at the other place so I can't dig them out right now.
