Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
In Memoriam
Well, this is the canoe you forum members and others have been helping me with. An 18 ft 1923 Old Town Guide. It belonged to a friend's grandfather who bought it new. It had seen a lot of use. Four ribs were worn paper thin in front of the seats. The grandfather was reportedly an accomplished canoe jouster and trapper.

It still needs a little varnish here and there and a final coat of paint, but the grandson should put it in the water again real soon.

Thanks for the tips when I post my stupid questions  :p .

Nice work Fitz,

If I could finish some other distractions, (house) I'd be working on a Guide too. Though I'm pretty much decided to try dacron on it to reduce the weight.

Ditto everyone above!

Make sure this canoe receives it's daily ration of water...Now, how about carving a paddle or two?
