Young canoes like this new baby must be taken out daily to train them properly. Special care must be taken with the fragile young bark canoe. Soon they will grow to full sized canoes and be enjoyed for years to come. FG

Canoe Care

I have found that the best foods to make your baby grow are fresh air, sunshine, and clear clean water. Also goode dosages of TLC. It may take several years for your canoe to reach full size depending on how much you feed it. Canoes rarely exceed 18' at full maturity. FG

" Birchbark canoes are usually coated with spar varnish, or they may be covered with a clear fiberglass. "

Bad Idea

The BARKCANOE is alive and has a spirit. By sealing the canoe with a none traditional material the canoe is unable to breath thus shortening the life span of this beautiful craft. FG
