I finally finished my 50 lb Old Town project on Dec. 31. I very much enjoyed the journey and wanted to thank all of you that offered advice.

A fine looking job. I love the way a 50 pounder paddles, and have been using my 1931 version in its somewhat rough "as bought" condition, except for a new coat of paint. When I get around to restoring it, I will be happy if it comes out looking as good as yours.
