closed gunwale Old Town on ebay

Looks like an OTCA to me.....Anyone know where Collegeville, PA is...at that current bid it would be worth the drive from here in NH

This canoe shipped on February 26th, 1917 as shown in the attached build record. There are several sites on the web like http://maps.yahoo.com/dd and http://maps.google.com/ that will give you the location, map, and driving distances in North America.

They mention Phoenixville, that's just NW of Valley forge use the King of Prussia exit and drive thru the national park or north on Rt 100 from the Downingtown exit.

'Bout 1.25 hrs from my house...

Early Otca's

At first glance I would have thought this was a HW, Ideal, or Chas. River because of the deck.
I thought all early OTCA's had a 20" deck with coaming.............?

Not all of them, Dave. Look at the build record, it specifies both Otca, and standard 16" decks. Why? Who knows. Could be special order, though it went to a retailer. Could be they were out of long decks that day. In any case, it does demonstrate how accurate Old Town was in their record keeping...

Cheers,
Dan
