Chestnut Olgivy Number

HAve a Chestnut Olgivy - 16ft with a number 2776 stamped in the stem like an Old Town.

Any Ideas??

There are no known Chestnut serial number records as you probably know. The information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?10122 indicates that it might be from the 1950s or 1960s. Others here with more information about Canadian canoes may be able to offer a better estimate.
