Canvas field repairs.

Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
Is there anyone here who might post a video of the process of repairing a small canvas tear using cloth and ambroid glue? I have to do some repairs and I have never done it before. I am a bit worried about ending up with the canvas glued to the planking under the repair and it would be really helpful to watch someone do this. Or maybe someone has seen such a video out on the interwebs somewhere?

Haven't come across any videos, but here are some photo instructions from old, online magazines. Maybe they could be useful?

Perfect!!! Thank you.

Boy's Life comes through again.

One tip I got was to make an under patch out of canvas that has been soaked in Ambroid and allowed to dry to the point that the under patch is a bit stiff and shove it under the tear in place of the tin that is recommended in this article in some situations. Then proceed in the fashion recommended to finish with an over patch.
