I have a 16' WC canoe that I would appreciate help identifying. Serial Number on foot of stem is ON8187. Having difficulties uploading pics.

The table at http://dragonflycanoe.com/id/pennyan.html indicates that you probably have a 16 foot long Owasco model from Penn Yan that was made between 1948-1955. There are no known Penn Yan serial number records available so there isn't much more that we can tell you. The 1949 catalog page below has some more details. Good luck,

Right, thanks Benson. After looking at the stem again I can see it is stampoed ONS 187 not ON 8187. The decks are definatly mahogany though the inwales and gunnels are likley Spruce - stained though.
