Wooden Canoe Maniac
OK, I Have a chance to pick up an Old town 25 footer war canoe. I looked a it years ago, never got it. Can't find my old post so not sure how old it is. It's in decent shape, not to bad. Any ideas what it might be worth ? Just thought some other opinions might help. I probably wont be able to get the serial # before I go see it again. Dave

You are probably well aware that all wood canoes are hard to value as described at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?57 and this is especially true for big war canoes. They are relatively rare as shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/models.html so some sellers think that this makes them are very valuable. However, there are almost no buyers so it usually takes an exceptionally low price to actually sell one. The Northeast Chapter decided to buy one a few years ago as a group project. It took a long time but they eventually found one in reasonable condition for a few hundred dollars. Your previous build record information request and response is available at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?11259 if anyone else is curious. Good luck and let us know how you make out,

Benson
