The Old Town canoe with serial number 168224 is an 18 foot long Guide model with a keel, outside stems, and a bang plate along the full length of the keel. It was built between November, 1958 and February, 1959. The original exterior paint color was bright red. It shipped on March 23rd, 1959 to Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A scan of this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
