Jan: Check the number again. 166997 comes back on a 15' AA grade lapstrake "Sportsman" model, I am assuming a rowboat. It was built with a keel, outside stems and a floor rack. It was built between January and February, 1958. The original exterior paint color was white with a copper bottom. It shipped on March 3, 1958 to West Haven, CT. I'm having a problem uploading the scan, let me know if this is the correct number and I'll get back to you.

The correct number is 156997, it is a 1952 Yankee. I would like a copy of the build sheet.
Along with the canoe was a new deck decal, box of bent ribs, new planking and a roll of canvas purchased in 1974. Also bought at that time but since misplaced was a gallon of filler, a quart of red paint and a quart of primer. There was also a letter initialed by Dean Gray in regard to recanvasing a canoe and a card of paint chips with 9 colors as used in the 70's.

Jan: The Old Town canoe with serial number 156997 is a 16 foot long CS grade Yankee with a keel. It was built between January and June, 1952. The original exterior canvas covering was red.
