SN search OT 64245 or 164245

Hi All,
Could someone help me with the record of an OT canoe, probably 17' located in MI. I've not seen the boat, but owner says SN is 164245 (?) or 64245.

I'm sorry about the delay in responding. The Old Town canoe with serial number 64245 is a 16 foot long CS grade HW that shipped to California. My guess is that you are asking about number 164245 which is a 17 foot long Otca model in AA (or top) grade with a keel and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1955 and January, 1956. The original exterior paint looked like the image at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design37.gif and was known as design number 37. It was shipped on January 9th, 1956 to Detroit, Michigan. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
