10oz canvas ordering mistake

Well… I goofed up. I ordered 10 ounce canvas instead of #10 canvas.
10oz canvas is lighter than #12 canvas. I’ve probably canvassed over 200 canoes and never used anything lighter than #10.
It seems kinda flimsy, but I’m used to #10….
Anyone ever used 10oz on a canoe?

I can't help you with the 10oz...I just noticed that the #10 is considered 15 oz. so that would make the material you bought 33% lighter; perhaps too light unfortunately. On your recommedation some time ago I did order a roll of #10 from Jerry's Artarama. Great price and after canvasing the current Old Town I can say I'm pleased with the material. Thanks for the information!

And number 12 equals 12ounce. So, there's that. I use number 12 alot but my work is disappointing because I can never seem to get the hull fair enough. It is very discouraging when I can't seem to get it right.

Yep, I think I’m going to forgo the 10oz. Too flimsy.
I ordered #10 30 yd roll yesterday from Big Duck. Jerry’s Artarama price shot up quite a bit.
