It seems a nice example although it is not historically relevant to our collections here.

I've posted a discussion of the sabani, a boat type from Okinawa, on my blog Indigenous Boats. The sabani is clearly derived from a dugout canoe, but whether to call it a canoe is arguable. Opinions?
