On your average canoe interior varnish, if there is one. Two gallons, there's no way around it you have to put it on kind of thick. I try and buy the 5 gallon bucket when I can aford it, and I explain to the customer it will add to the final cost and most of them are ok with that. I scrub with soap and water afterwards and use the garden hose. Haven't found a great deal on it anywhere it seems to be expensive anywhere you buy it. I like the fact that you can use it inside the shop with no bad smell. Usually I have to go back and hit a few spots later, but overall I like the stuff enough to keep using it. Dave
