Here's a close approximation of what's needed, quite a lot of ancillary parts needed but all low tech but I think the former can be in wood. By the time you've made half a dozen, you'll have set yourself up as the supplier for the next twenty years.

And this is one where I used a plumbing fitting as described a bit earlier in the thread. You can still see the hexagonal key hole for tightening it on, but this can be drilled out. It certainly looks better than a rough hole

I think it is a flag as the the wooden location hole is around 20mm as image.So it is a hole for a mast, not a flag pole. I think spinning the shape would be difficult because you will need a return on the shape. On the Peterborough sleeves they have the main sleeve which lines the hole and the decorative bit you see on the deck is turned back from that. As spinning starts with a flat disc which is then forced over a turned form, I can't see how that would work. Spinning is great fun though. It gets a bit hairy on a larger scale and you must keep the metal well annealed.

Could you not use tube of the same diameter as the hole? Have a former with a hole of the same diameter, tube fixed to it and then spread over?
