Please help with Canoe identification

Found this canoe out in one of my grandfather‘s old barns. I would love to learn some history on it. Unfortunately, there were no numbers or markings anywhere on it that I could find. Any help would be appreciated. It’s about 16 feet in length and about 3 feet wide. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Welcome to the forum. Your canoe is almost certainly home built, and probably just from plans instead of a kit.
When I was in high school (1960s) two of my brothers and I collaborated to build a Folbot from a kit. One other brother went his own way, and built something like yours, but even simpler.
Plans, kits, Folbots, etc were all advertised in the back pages of magazines like Popular Mechanics and Popular Science – long before the internet of course.
Someone else on this site may be able to chime in with more specific info about your design.
If your boat is in good shape and you use it, you will certainly get a lot of attention!

I agree with Worth, probably home built from plans. It's good looking, and appears to be quality work.

Apparently they have now made the bubble boat too. I think Nostradamus wrote for Popular Mechanics
No cigarettes tho...
