Wood Frame Folboat Deck Covering

I've got a short wood framed Folboat kayak in the shop that needs new deck skin. I bought some vinyl material, but it doesn't stretch or shrink with heat to get the wrinkles out. It should be drum tight, I think. I have given some thought to a marine grade Naugahyde.
Anybody ever re-skin one?

Any awning supply companies around? A friend i know did a kayak with something from JoAnns fabrics but it was the deck only and as far as I know the owner of the kayak still likes it after maybe 5 or 6 years.

Marine vinyl is mildew treated. Regular fabric shops can get it but normally don't carry it. There are original instructions on line for building the Folbot. That might help.
