Today I acquired this William English, Peterborough, Ontario canoe. I know very little about this canoe, so your comments are invited and much appreciated!

She’s 16’x32”x12”… so, slender and probably agile, but rather heavy! This will NOT be a wilderness tripper which is my preferred canoe activity.

I have also recently picked up an English canoe. Has anyone come across these adjustable thrawts before? Also the decal was on the stern king plank. Is that correct?

Benson do you know if the adjustable thwarts were ever original to the canoe or always added later by the people doing the racing.

I'm not sure if adjustable thwarts were standard on William English canoes but they were on a similar Old Town canoe as shown below from their 1929 catalog.
