Wild flower ID

The Audubon Guide doesn't appear to have this one.

Kevin,

I believe what you have found may be MayFlower, also called Trailing Arbutus - scientific name Epigaea reperis. Butttt I've been wrong before when the subject plant or critter is not in the hand where you can study it well!!!!

Denis says it's trailing arbutus too--

Dog appears to be a lab.

Three votes for Trailing Arbutus.

Sunny & mid 80's here in east central VT. Guess sugar'n's done. Still have chunks of ice on the shady side of the river. Almost time to plant the peas.

I believe the dog is correctly identified as a Lab but what about the flowers under the dog? I used to know the name of them but I partied too much during the '70s and can't remember now. That's my excuse at least.

The dandelion looking flower is Coltsfoot, found near water or wet Labs

it is in the Audubon's Guide, but the pic is of the pink blossom

Thanks

Kevin
