We found this while on a canoe trip through the Kazan River, Nunavut. It was on the beach at an old weather station on Angikuni Lake.
Any idea what it may have been?
Dave, too wet to burn! John Hupfield and Doug Ingram could get it back afloat, looks like an old freighter. That old verolite sure seems to be hanging in there! They likely have shots of similar ones.. Just remember, they dont all deserve to be saved.
Most likely a Canots Nor-West. Sold by the Northern Stores and they're all over the north. Thanks, Andre, I probably could fix it, but these days I'd rather do something else.
So I should list it as a classic and I should not include delivery - buyer must pick up.
At the time back in 2001, I didn't catch the w/c bug yet so didn't investigate it as I would today. I wonder what it looks like 12 years later?
Being that it is orange, has to be a Coast Guard Cutter. Must have run ashore during a rescue operation. With notice to the wood planks and ribs was one of their earlier versions.
