Two Old Towne canoes (16.5' measured): 20929 and 22129

Would love to know more about these two boats. Family oral history says turn of last century, but who knows.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 20929 is an 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Charles River model with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch thwarts, birch seats, spruce finish rails, and a keel. It was built between February and April, 1912. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on April 26th, 1912 to Rutland, Vermont.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 22129 is an 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Charles River model with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch thwarts, birch seats, spruce finish rails, a keel, a floor rack, a slat back rest, and two five foot long spruce paddles. It was built between April and May, 1912. The original exterior paint color was dark red. It was shipped on June 13th, 1912 to Hydeville, Vermont.
