"Solo Portage" from Laughing Loon. Advice needed.

Has anyone here built the "Solo Portage" canoe from Laughing Loon?

I'm thinking of building it as a tandem. This canoe would be a flat water, placid river, sunday afternoon with a sixpack and two sandwiches boat.

Anyone built and paddled one? Impressions?

Considering that it usually takes about 32" beam at the 4" waterline to make a hull that's "comfortably" stable for most folks in a recreational tandem, you may want to leave the sixpack at home unless you like your beer watered down.
