The Old Town canoe with serial number 96541 is a 17 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Charles River model with western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, a keel, outside stems, and a bang plate along the full length of the keel. It was built between December, 1927 and March, 1928. The original exterior paint color was bright red. It shipped on March(?) 14th, 1928 to Easton, Penna.
