I am looking for any information on a canoe with the serial number posted above. It is an L.L. Bean Old Town Camper canoe in a green olive color. I would like to know if it was indeed made in the year 1999. What was the cost of it back then and how long it was. Also, what was the construction material used. Thank you.

The hull identification number XTC20493D899 confirms that your canoe was made by the Old Town Canoe company in April, 1998 for the 1999 model year. Pages 20 and 24 of the 1999 Old Town catalog at the link below confirm that it is 16 feet long and made from Oltonar/Royalex. Page five has more details about the construction process. I don't have a 1999 price list but this model was listed at $925 in 1998 with cane seats and $1199 with wood trim. These prices had gone up to $945 and $1219 respectively in 2000.
