serial number search #96726-18

Would like search for serial number 96276-18. Just purchased and has brands burned into underside of seats and floor rack JRT. Gild decorative stripe looks to be gilded with guilded blue pin stripe border. Looks like the canoe was brown or tan color. It is now red and has been a very long time.

Hi Michael,

Your canoe is an 18' AA grade (top grade) OTCA model with Western cedar planking, open Mahogany gunwales, decks, thwarts and seats. It was equipped with a keel, outside stems, a floor rack and rub rails, (something that I can't make out) and painted with design #23. It was built in 1928 and sold to a company in Grand Rapids, MI.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
