Serial number restoration

The serial numbers on my 1927 Old Town are pretty faded and worn. Any suggestions as to how to either redo them or how to bring them out better?

You can best preserve the serial numbers with several layers of a good varnish. They were hammered in with metal stamps like the ones shown at http://img1.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.301988537.jpg so you could get a set to do them over again.

There are stamps avaible it remake the number. You may have to search for them but 1/2" stamps are around, I have a set.
