Looking for more info on a old town canoe reg# 171693
serial number information

The Old Town canoe with serial number 171693 is an 18 foot long Guide's model with a keel. It was built between December, 1961 and May, 1962. The original exterior paint colors were similar to the ones shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design37.gif which was known as the design number 37. It shipped on May 3rd, 1962 to Richmond, Virginia. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
