Hi! My father-in-law has asked me to do some research on his vintage Old Town canoe and try to find a new home for it. It has been in the family for generations and needs to be restored, but no one in the family is interested. Anyway, the serial number is 74136, and it's 17 feet. Can anyone tell me what year it was made or any other information on this model? Thank you!

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 74136 is a 17 foot long, AA (or top) grade, HW model with red western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, a floor rack, sponsons, and a painter ring. It was built between October, 1922 and February, 1923. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on February 27th, 1923 to Chicago, Illinois.
