The Carleton canoe with serial number 19351 is a 17 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Carleton model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch thwarts, birch seats, half ribs, a keel, and outside stems. It was built between December, 1925 and March, 1926. The original exterior paint color was orange with a half inch black stripe. This may have been similar to the image at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design20.gif which was known as the Old Town design number 20. It shipped on March 31st, 1926 to Chicago, Illinois. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. The Old Town with this number has closed gunwales and the Kennebec is 18 feet long so this Carleton record appears to be the best match. The sail rig was probably added after it left the factory since it is not mentioned on the build record. It does not look like a factory style rig. Good luck with the eBay sale. You will probably find four small nail holes in the deck that originally held a brass tag like the one shown at
http://forums.wcha.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=8361&d=1250430615 here. Old Town purchased Carleton in March, 1910 so you may want to correct this information in your advertisement. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
