Curious about Wooden Canoes
September has been unseasonably warm in the Ottawa area, up near 27 degrees Celsius (80F) the entire time, so I pulled my canoeing enjoyment a bit early and decided to varnish! Admittedly I did not have much to do, except the gunwales and the interior of both stems, plus a few touch-ups along the way. Attached are comprehensive instructions for varnishing the interior! I am not a varnishing pro, but I am happy with my results! This will serve me very well next spring, even though I missed an amazing week at unbelievable temperatures, but it still feels fine! That's 3 full coats so far!
