Thanks so much for the info provided in my last request. Could you now please send info regarding Old Town #56475 which appears to be an 18' OTCA.

I was a member back in the early days, say early 80's, and now that I am retired I have a bit of time to return to my passion.

Thanking you in advance, I remain

Most Cordially-

The Old Town canoe with serial number 56475 is an 18 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Otca model with open spruce gunwales, maple twenty inch decks, maple thwarts, maple seats, and a keel. It was built between October and December, 1919. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on March, 16th, 1920 to Chicago, Ill. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.php to join.

It is also possible that they could have another number or manufacturer if this description don't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Benson
